Electro Dry Needling

Electro Dry Needling is a modified form of dry needling which utilizes an electro-stimulation unit connected via cables to fine filament needles. The combination of dry needling with electro-stimulation often prolongs the pain relief effect by blocking nerve pathways and preventing pain signals from travelling to the brain.
The electrical stimulation is typically applied at a low frequency (usually in the range of 2-100 Hz) and at a low intensity, so it should not cause any significant discomfort to the patient. The intensity and frequency of the electrical stimulation can be adjusted based on the individual’s condition and treatment goals.
During the treatment you may experience twitching, contractions, numbness or tingling in the area that is being treated. The frequency and intensity are consistently monitored to avoid pain or discomfort. This method of treatment often results in relaxation and pain relief.

The combination of Dry Needling and electrical stimulation is believed to enhance the therapeutic effects of regular treatment with the needles. Some potential benefits of Electro Dry Needling include:
1. Pain Relief: Electro acupuncture may be more effective than traditional acupuncture alone in reducing pain, particularly chronic pain conditions.
2. Muscle Relaxation: The electrical stimulation can help relax tight muscles, making it useful for certain musculoskeletal issues.
3. Increased Blood Circulation: The electrical current may promote increased blood flow to the treated area, aiding in tissue healing and repair.
4. Enhanced Release of Neurotransmitters: Electro acupuncture may stimulate the release of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, which can have positive effects on pain perception and mood.
Electro acupuncture often treats a wide range of conditions, such as chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, and certain types of paralysis.
The treatment plan and specific acupuncture points selected will depend on the patient’s individual needs and condition. As with any medical intervention, there may be certain contraindications or precautions to consider, so professional evaluation and guidance are crucial.
