At your initial assessment, we will discuss your overall health, treatment history and goals, and evaluate, treat and reassess to be able to provide a detailed treatment plan.
You can reach us by WhatsApp, give us a call, or through direct booking form on contact page, whatever is more convenient for you.
Comfortable loose-fitting shorts, sports bra, underwear, and a tank top are all recommended types of clothing for treatment. While yoga pants are comfortable, they are not ideal for treatment.
I do not bill insurance companies directly. Full payment is made by patients for services rendered upon completion of a treatment session. Receipt and Claim form are then provided by a front desk specialist that can be remitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. I highly advice to have a physiotherapy treatment referral from your consultant doctor before seeing me. If you are not claiming on your medical insurance then you do not need a referral to come for a session.
I recommend all of my patients to book a 1 hour initial consultation, and based on the assessment and findings I will decide what the best treatment protocol is, including the total time of the session.
As everyone is different, so is the amount of time required to yield results. Historically, many patients feel improvement with respect to their pain and range of motion after a single session. That said, as therapeutic goals, lifestyle, compliance with exercises, and number treatments sessions required will be wide ranged, an estimation on number of sessions will always vary. It is not uncommon for the healing journey to be different for each patient.
Generally, you will not need to do anything after treatment except rest. Simply drink plenty of water and get a solid night of sleep. It is best not to work out after dry needling, but walking or any gentle movement is helpful to promote blood circulation. If muscle soreness is excessive then applying heat or alternating ice & heat can be helpful.
In the traditional approach to Dry Needling, dry needling was followed by heat and gentle stretching to the affected area. While this may improve the effectiveness of a dry needling treatment, it is not entirely necessary. Do not overstretch after a treatment as this could stir up more inflammation and prolong the healing time.
Experiencing some level of discomfort or pain during a physiotherapy session is not uncommon, especially when engaging with dry needling or manual techniques aimed at addressing specific issues. However, it's crucial to distinguish between normal discomfort associated with therapeutic interventions and pain that may indicate a problem.
Cupping leaves marks; it’s part of the process. Normally, they will disappear in a day or two. When your session is over, you may feel the same as before your session started. You may also feel a bit lightheaded. You should hydrate and get enough of sleep. Try to avoid intake of Caffeine, Alcohol, Sugar, Dairy and Intense Exercises to let your body heal and eliminate all toxins through natural process.
Most of the patient's report having sore muscles after dry needling. The targeted muscles may feel like they are a bit bruised but also more relaxed at the same time. It is common for the soreness to last between a few hours and a few days. Drinking plenty of water will speed up recovery. Soaking in a hot bath for 20 minutes should also help.
Local bruising from the treatment is possible, but not a cause for concern. Any bruising will disappear quickly and should be restricted to large muscle groups such as the shoulders.
It is common to feel tired, emotional, “out of it” after treatment. This is a normal response that can last up to 1-2 hours after treatment. Most likely this feeling will pass quickly, and you will sleep better than usual following treatment.
It should be noted that there are times when treatment may increase pain symptoms. This is normal and part of the body’s healing cycle. The normal healing cycle is pro-inflammatory at first then anti-inflammatory later. If worsening symptoms continue over 2 days after treatment, keep note of it, as this can help me to adjust your treatment approach.
You may feel dizzy for the first 48 hours after the treatment. After performed session, it happens that patients will have nausea or feeling of vomiting. This is a normal part of the process which involves repositioning of the structures in the inner ear where vestibular organ sits. If the treatment has worked successfully for you, your symptoms should improve daily after each session done. If your dizziness persists or comes back in the future, it would be a highly advisable to have the follow up treatment for re-evaluation.
At the moment, there is no medication approved for the treatment of the Tinnitus, despite many research studies both in USA and Europe. Tinnitus treatment is a very complex process. Depending of the cause of your Tinnitus, treatment protocol and sensitivity after the session may vary. Tinnitus can be Subjective which means that issue is located in the Central Nerve System or Objective which can include Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, Trigger Points, Spasm, or any restriction in function of Carotid/Vertebral Artery and Jugular Vein. After each session, patient goes through structural and metabolic changes, which boosts the healing process and it is absolutely normal to have “ups and downs” through the elimination of tinnitus from your body. Numerous patients came to me with this condition, and I was their last destination. They are living a happy Tinnitus-free life.
Low level laser therapy is a non-invasive, fast and effective modality that has been proven in clinical trials to reduce pain, reduce edema, and promote healing. The only general precaution is the use of special filtering glasses when a class 3B laser is in use. It is a completely pain-free procedure while some patients reported slight tingling sensation over treated area. Only in case of pregnant patients, this modality will be avoided as there is no current study that shows if this treatment affects the development of fetus.
While Thermal lasers create an external heat feeling, Low Level Laser Therapy is the use of low intensity photonic energy as a treatment modality which why this type of the Lasers are called “Cold Lasers”. Photonic stimulation excite the body’s cells infusing them with energy, with the three primary reactions being, reduction of inflammation, cell function and increased blood flow.
As humans we have both physical and emotional components tied to healing. Day-to-day life has taught us to ignore pain and uncomfortable feelings where Myofascial Release promotes us to feel everything and deny nothing. To truly heal, we must acknowledge all that is happening within the multiple layers of our bodies. As an experienced therapist, my goal is to assist you with recognizing and understanding the significance behind the trauma that is attributed to any fascial restrictions you may have.
Myofascial Release treatment will never force nor injure you. However, you may experience some mild tenderness after a treatment session. With time, you will realize the importance of listening to your body and will start to notice the natural healing process taking place. Hydration of the fascia through drinking plenty of water is highly recommended as it promotes release to their fullest potential.
